Okay, first, I too would like to revive fortnight. It's a lovely word, why did we let it go? And I'm in on foxy, too. Having lived most of the past three years in the culture of 1960s English, I'm working on reviving "fab."

Your comment on trying not to impose one lifetime onto another is so wise. As I contemplate this move to Ireland, I keep thinking about how to keep what I'm afraid of losing, even as I know that's not going to work. A very human tendency, to be loss averse, even when we know that there is gain to be had in letting go.

Happy Christmas! Other than nibbling on some hard-won Trader Joe's food, I'll taking advantage of the lack of demands on my time, for the last push to get the podcast into the world in February.

Happy Christmas back to you!

I also love the word fab and often use it. Funny that all three words start with the letter F.

Exciting about your podcast!

F is a good letter.

Also why is the man at the produce stand in your photo wearing a hazmat suit? inquiring minds want to know.

Ha!

You mean the dude in the overalls in front??? lol

I was just coming back to say that I have my laptop (and phone) set to black and white (I HIGHLY recommend this, you'll never go back once you do it) and I didn't see the overalls. It just looked like one big hazmat suit!

My favorite “water heater release-valve” is an F word. It will get a heavy-duty workout in 2025😵‍💫

Faith…What about “Groovy” as well?

You’re a lucky ducky getting to escape to Ireland pre-1/20/2025. Best of luck🍀

well it won’t be pre-1/20/2025, so I have to hope the fuckery goes slowly (for many reasons)

Hoping you, Jon & your pack find your holidays MERRY & BRIGHT❣️❣️❣️

The practice of finding Calm/Peace in my body from the December Solstice Transmission was just what I needed. My guidance has suggested today that I do this every morning, so it is now part of my daily routine 😊 (And, of course I will use it as needed🤣🤣🤣)

Thank you so much, Tana.

I am so happy to hear this.

Happy Solstice time and holidays. I have the complete opposite inclination. Stay home, do not go out where there are the shoppers! And how great you bumped into your friend! Sending you all love

Much Solstice and Holiday love right back to you.

I typically have stayed home, but this year, the lure of surprises in the city won.

Hello again to you, Nora!

I live in Chicago... I could not have believed it that you were speaking about Chicago in your post. I *thought* you were in a warm climate but since you mentioned that you moved from Ojai to here then it clicked. I have not been to Luna; perhaps I should go! Speaking of going... one of my favorite places in Chicago has actually been somewhere that I had found myself being somewhat bound at due to my moves all over Chicago: Evans Field, Cook County Forest Preserves. Either one of these nearby forest preserves are quite nice during the warm weather. In fact, somehow my life events may have led myself to you. I mentioned to you earlier that I recently became involved with being in relationship with the Fae, which at the time and perhaps even presently, I confuse(d) for "aliens" which may just be any creature in the fifth dimension or above. It is here in Evans Field and the surrounding forest preserves that I was introduced to the local Fae. They made themselves strongly known when I was noticing bizarre happenings in my daily walks. And now, maybe I understand the resonation that Calliandra has clearer to my thoughts. In my forest walks I have not yet had telepathic or vocal communication with anybody but they often show up in my pictures, many of which I needed to start deleting to free space on my cellphone. The beautiful thing about having taken and gone through all of the pictures is that I believe I could recognize the different types of beings if they wish to make further contact. I had been approached once by those that I could see with my naked vision, and, hilariously yet frighteningly at the time, they asked me for an offering. This was also around the time that I discovered my relatives desired an offering from me. Anyway, now that the Fae seem to be hiding from the cold just as myself (if that's what they do), I am also looking at the buildings around me more for the lighting. When at the Field Museum on Solstice to celebrate my sister's birthday, I was just appreciating the Chicago skyline and the balance it has with the parks system and how Chicago is bordered by the gigantic Lake Michigan. I was reminded that even still during Winter Chicago is beautiful. Speaking of beautiful, I had recently reached out to meet you to say "thank you" and it is wonderful to be reminded of the importance of gratitude that Christmas time brings. These days I'm super grateful to be cuddled up in my studio! However, when nature warms back up and beckons for us to return to her company, I am eager to be once again present in the outdoor magic. If possible, I would love to invite you for a picnic if you ever desire to explore the Cook County Forest Preserves. Merry Christmas and Happy Winter Solstice Blessings to you and yours, Nora! ❤️

Thank you so much for sharing all of this, Gen.

Chicago is a magical place, both the urban and the forested. It is the place of my birth and life until I was in my late thirties. It's fun to be back at this time of year.

We love the forest preserve systems in Cook and Lake Counties. I have had many a faerie encounter there along with right here in this apartment building I live in both now and 20 years ago when we lived here then.

Wishing you a beautiful holiday and sending you love.

I was born/grew up in Southern California…where I stayed until I was 24. That’s when I met/married a man from Washington. He was in SoCal doing a Ph D. externship at the Long Beach VA…where I was doing my internship for my MSW.

He described SoCal as “THE BUBBLE ”…no changes in weather, no bugs to deal with etc., etc. It was home to me and I knew nothing different.

After we’d married, we headed to Lincoln, NE; as he needed to finish coursework for his Ph.D. I knew the West coast and the East coastI The Midwest…not so much😵‍💫 HUGE bug population, heat/HUMIDITY…tornado country‼️. I’d agreed to stay for 2 years! As we approached 4 I told him that I was going to click my ruby red slippers together and find where my graduate school home was going to be…and that he was welcome to come.

Grad school was in Seattle…where he’d been born/lived! We made our home here, as I had NO desire to return to LA. I miss the sun and the ocean/beach…period.

Hadn’t thought of this in years…thanks for the memories Nora❣️

I’m EXTREMELY grateful to be entering 2025 in Seattle, as it’s quite, quite blue😵‍💫

Happy New Year, Nora!

Your words 'weaving' and 'overlay' and that old life meeting new life have really helped me today. It has been a strange almost-six months (and also not-strange) to be back in Wyoming, even when it's something I've been moving toward since I became an adult.

This sort-of landing process is taking so much longer than it ever has for me when I have moved.

I am hoping to read more of your writing this year - squirrel brain is at its all-time best!

So much gratitude to you :)
