You are an inspiration.. I probably have cans of food, long expired.. spices too. And you have inspired me to pop some organic popcorn for my lunch! Recently I was emptying my dishwasher and stacked 3 water tumblers, immediately accidently knocked them over, breaking all 3. About an hour later the mail came with an unexpected package from a dear friend in Arizona. I opened it to discover 12 waterford crystal glasses! The note said , these were her grandmother's and she knew I loved waterford. Well my friend's packing job sucked because I unwrapped 9 fragments of beautiful crystal glasses and 3 intact. Voila, my 3 replacement glasses arrived within an hour and I was upgraded to crystal! I love how this works... probably happening all the time.
I love how the Gaza group was so relentless in their message needing to be heard. Love this!
The rat situation must be not just in your house if the town is discussing it, and I'm sorry you have this problem.
Oh crap! Time for some hawks and cats? That's a serious issue for thewjole community! How did the ecosystem get so out of wack?im thinking it's a lot of country and wildlife in the valley right? I'm so sorry for everyone.
Yes, there is a lot of wildlife here in the valley. And yeah, we are out of whack. There are other things that contribute to the rat issue here at our property that I'll share about at another time.
Oh my goodness . . . I was wondering how city council shenanigans would fit into all-positive January. Love the spicy magic and have enjoyed Penzey’s outspoken social justice vibe myself!
This afternoon I threw out some very much expired otc meds, including child ibuprofen. When’s the last time our youngest (17) may have had use for that?! Let’s not get into all that. THEN I sliced my pinkie with a mandolin slicer!! Wtf!!! Maybe the lidocaine injection was my quick turnaround? 😂😂😩😩😭😭Hoping for some happier magical outcomes.
Thank you to You & Jon for not inviting me into your home. Should you, I'd surely suffer the trap that's loaded with peanut butter & persimmon.
Have you seen today's (Jan. 12, 2024) edition of the Ojai Valley News? The headline is "Ceasefire protest disrupts special council meeting". There's a photo of the the council chambers with the "For the record, we, the people, on behalf of Gaza, demand you hear our public comments" group standing in front of the seating for the audience and behind the lectern. At the lectern is Robin Gerber, to whom, I'm sure you referred in your piece. I can't help, but wonder, if this group truly feels it was more important for the Council to listen to them at the Special Meeting, than to have the Council move towards hiring a permanent City Manager which must be done in order for the City to get back on the track to running more efficiently? It's great to be passionate, but timing is dang important. This group lacked acknowledging such. Thanks for reporting on the meeting.
I've had dismissive Landlords before. I had a yellowjacket nest under the driveway, and I was getting stung getting out of my car. He didn't care. A neighbor poured gas in there and lit it while there to cut the lawn 😲. Not something I would have done, but I was glad they were gone. In that town we had clear landlord tenant requirements. I helped make them clear as an intern (adult student) and I did have to call the town’s head person to come check out the windows that didn't stay up and slammed on my hand. They gave him 2 weeks to fix it. I did end up calling him a slum Lord. Sounds like you have the same deal. Aren't there health codes in ojai against infestation? At least you have some sane people on your council! Thanks for the read 💜 btw I'm still feeling so much better after our sweet session 🩷

Good Luck with the Muridae family infestation,
