It is definitely intense and heart breaking out there right now. And like all of us I am feeling it. I have dies where I am close to tears and then days I know things are going to get better. I think mixing the world with my physical stuff is making me easier to get down some days. But my optimism and heart know love wins.
I am heading to the local protest tomorrow and then on to Pride here. It will be a good day. Fingers crossed the rain holds off though! Pride is always such a happy time with everyone full of smiles and joy. I just love the energy.

This being said, we did have a joyful celebration for Celia’s graduation yesterday. Our youngest out of high school - wow! Hasn’t sunk in yet.

Nora, wanted to say thank you again for writing and - if this is of interest - since January I know in my case, I've been severely minimizing social media as I've been trying to figure out how to get the focus back that I'd always had and was noticing was harder to find.
Since I am rarely on here, I did find that knowing you were posting on the same day made it easy to check in as I've been honing my activities to be very deliberate (evidently I have many things I am interested in doing, which makes my preferred mode of being unscheduled almost impossible lol) - not unlike a community event where we all are going to be in a particular place at a particular time..
That being said, of course I can schedule myself to check in with you as usual, even when you're making posts as they magically decide to appear ;)
I was just reflecting on how in my case the communion-y nature of the Monday check-in has turned out to be something I didn't realize I cherished as much as I do - who knew!
This is not at all meant to suggest you go back to that schedule, by the way. I had been having a harder time getting weather info (old habits, hurricane season) and so briefly checked fb - where I've basically gotten all my weather info for the past five years - and your post came up about sharing/substack.
Now (have been thinking lots about Gen X as of late) have started to remember things from childhood like tv schedules, prior to taping things and watching them later; waiting for the Scholastic book order to arrive; events like that which weren't asynchronous and ready for any time we reach for them around the world. Coming this Friday, had been looking forward to such a thing - going up to Medicine Wheel for solstice.
And my sweet car decided to flash all her dash lights at me yesterday, and no appt with the mechanic prior to the 30th, so perhaps it's not to be...
More than one way to visit Medicine Wheel; and more than one way to enjoy Solstice, which definitely happens when it happens!
Wondering whether you or anyone around has been reflecting on similar scheduly-things as of late, in contrast with 'always readily available...'
It used to be that when we left our homes, no one could get a hold of us, and we had no idea who had tried to connect with us. I remember coming home feeling excited to see who had left me a message on my answering machine.
Now, when my phone dings, I don't feel excitement. lol
